About Harbor Psychotherapy

1886782348Coming to grips with our challenges and where we’ve been…

It’s a big part of understanding where we are today.

So, let’s do that. Let’s take a good look at where you were and where you are now.

The place to start is by being honest with yourself.

I’m here to help you tell your story – to listen to yourself.

Certain actions have helped you; others have hurt you. We want to look at it all so that you can understand and accept your past.

When you understand and accept yourself, you can change your relationships and behaviors to improve your world.

What are your struggles?

Do you know you’re dealing with depression and that it can impact everyone around you?

Do you know that a steady fast-food diet is wrecking your physical and mental health?

Do you know you have to come to grips with the fact that you’re anxious and have to learn to live in a way that others don’t?

I’ve personally dealt with ALL these things over the course of my life.

739797655They didn’t change until I took responsibility for them.

That meant examining my choices, understanding how they affected my life, and accepting that reality.

To make long-term changes and improve our lives, we have to make better, more deliberate choices.

You won’t suddenly become a finished product, but you can inch closer to that version of yourself you know you can be.

And it takes work.

It’s a daily journey of stepping back to control your affect, look at the funny side of life, and realize what you can and can’t change.

A big part of finding your way is appreciating how your life is balanced between your environment, body, and mind.

You can’t be perfect along the way, but you’ll make strides if you trust the process.

I’m here for you.

We’ll struggle, laugh, problem-solve, and talk about life’s weirdness.

We’ll shift around this crazy world so that you can get your needs met in it.

Momentum, not perfection, will be our goal. And there’s never any judgment!

This is a space for you to be you. All you need to bring is your motivation to change and commitment to the process.

Don’t put this off any longer. I’m here to help. Call today for your free consultation: (845) 418-9222.

About Me

Download

I had a long journey to becoming a psychotherapist.

I’ve taken a winding path and have gained experience working in residential care, drug rehabilitation, experiential education, brain trauma, and institutional cooking! I’ve also helped run a program for teens and young adults to figure out how to become adults.

That wide array of experiences taught me a lot about life’s ups and downs. It also gave me a perspective on my place in the world, eventually leading me to my mission to help others in a more individualized way.

My life changed a lot along the way…

I moved from New York’s Hudson Valley region to South Carolina’s low country to be closer to family. I also got married, had kids, and took in many, many, MANY dogs and cats.

It wasn’t an easy or “normal” path, but I believe we grow with every experience.
